Workspace and Singularity analysis of a Delta like family robot

چکیده
Workspace and joint space analysis are essential steps in describing the task and designing the control loop of the robot, respectively. This paper presents the descriptive analysis of a family of delta-like parallel robots by using algebraic tools to induce an estimation about the complexity in representing the singularities in the workspace and the joint space. A Gröbner based elimination is used to compute the singularities of the manipulator and a Cylindrical Algebraic Decomposition algorithm is used to study the workspace and the joint space. From these algebraic objects, we propose some certified three dimensional plotting describing the the shape of workspace and of the joint space which will help the engineers or researchers to decide the most suited configuration of the manipulator they should use for a given task. Also, the different parameters associated with the complexity of the serial and parallel singularities are tabulated, which further enhance the selection of the different configuration of the manipulator by comparing the complexity of the singularity equations.

An Efficient Algorithm for Workspace Generation of Delta Robot
Dimensional synthesis of a parallel robot may be the initial stage of its design process, which is usually carried out based on a required workspace. Since optimization of the links lengths of the robot for the workspace is usually done, the workspace computation process must be run numerous times. Hence, importance of the efficiency of the algorithm and the CPU time of the workspace computatio...
متن کاملWorkspace Boundary Avoidance in Robot Teaching by Demonstration Using Fuzzy Impedance Control
The present paper investigates an intuitive way of robot path planning, called robot teaching by demonstration. In this method, an operator holds the robot end-effector and moves it through a number of positions and orientations in order to teach it a desired task. The presented control architecture applies impedance control in such a way that the end-effector follows the operator’s hand with d...
متن کاملModeling and Wrench Feasible Workspace Analysis of a Cable Suspended Robot for Heavy Loads Handling
Modeling and Wrench feasible workspace analysis of a spatial cable suspended robots is presented. A six-cable spatial cable robot is used the same as Stewart robots. Due to slow motion of the robot we suppose the motion as pseudostatic and kinetostatic modeling is performed. Various workspaces are defined and the results of simulation are presented on the basis of various workspaces and app...
متن کاملKinematics, workspace and singularity analysis of a multi-mode parallel robot
A family of reconfigurable parallel robots can change motion modes by passing through constraint singularities by locking and releasing some passive joints of the robot. This paper is about the kinematics, the workspace and singularity analysis of a 3-PRPiR parallel robot involving lockable Pi and R (revolute) joints. Here a Pi joint may act as a 1-DOF planar parallelogram if its lockable P (pr...
متن کاملA New Kind of Singularity in Redundant Manipulation: Semi Algorithmic Singularity
This paper reports the discovery of a new type of singularity that is as signijlcant as other singularities like kinematic singularity, algorithmic singularity, and semi-singularity. This singularity, named semi algorithmic singularity(SAS), occurs when a redundant manipulator, faced with inequality constraints arising from kinematic limits such as joint angle limits and obstacles, proceeds to ...
